Top Rated Mountain Bike Trails

Mountain bike enthusiasts all share one common goal, to tackle the toughest rated trails across the country.  With this in mind, here are the top rated mountain bike trails across the US.  As you may notice, most are located in Colorado, which in general is the state to travel to if you want to tackle the most challenging trails in the United States.

Mount Hermon (Monument, CO)- Mount Hermon is one of the best kept secrets of Colorado, but now that you know about it make it a point to try out the trail.  With mostly dirt road climbs and a single track that takes you over the back of Mount Herman along a narrow trail that are edged with wildflowers and aspens, it is pretty close to the perfect mountain bike trail.

Saratoga Gap (Saratoga CA)- One of the charms of the Saratoga Gap trail is that it is located in a very dark forest area with one singletrack that travels across the Santa Cruz mountains along the edge of Silicon Valley.  With plenty of interloping trails and scenic sites it is a thrill to ride even if you have traveled it a few times before.

Tsali Left Loop (Bryson City, NC)-   Although you get to choose which direction to take at the top of the Tsali trailhead, the left loop stands out among the others given that it is the longest and offers you the opportunity to reach maximum speeds while racing past a variety of descents and climbs that offer great views.

Trail 401 (Crested Butte, CO)-  Thought by many to be the top trail across Colorado, which is no easy feat, Trail 401 offers some of the best trails, sites, and road climbs found across the States.  To top it off, as you tear down the side of 13,000ft mountain terrain to the beginning of the trail there are wildflowers everywhere creating a dizzy mind numbing experience for any mountain biker.
